Marching Band
This week I have marching band practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These are the first practices since November. It feels kind of nice to be doing marching band again(: We are preparing to be in the Memorial Day parade. Our new section leader is my good friend Jacy. We have 4 new people in our section. One of them is named Harold and has a fro, I am excited about this. The eighth graders are so awkward and tiny lol. They all seem pretty nice, except for one that thinks they're the shit... We are only playing 2 easy songs which is good. We are also having a picnic after the parade to get to know people. So I am very happy for the parade and hope some of my friends come.

Netflix and Skins
I just got Netflix last Saturday and I am obsessed! But whenever iI get something new, I get obsessed with it and burn myself out on it then stop caring about it after a week or two. So as I was looking through movies and shows to put in my instant queue, I found Skins. As you may know, America has done its own version of he show on MTV. But the one I found was the original UK version. I have seen the American version, and its definitely not as good as the UK version. So I watched the whole first season in 2 days and I fell in love with the show. Its not like any other show we have here, it is way better than the American version. My favorite thing about the show is the variety of characters, dark humor and the cultural differences. There is a lot of drug use in the show, but its entertaining. My favorite character in the first season is Sid. He is the push over friend that always gets screwed over. But he is the nicest person on the show. He is really nerdy, awkward and cute. I am also almost done with the second season which is also great. I strongly recommend this show!

Kira Keck
Kira Keck is a junior at Linworth and Kilbourne. Her passions are art (fibers, comics), women's rights, literature (sci-fi, The Enchantress from the Stars, Abarat) and Star Trek. Her interests are Plushies (stuffed animals), 1960s American history, art, comics and Japanese culture. She is inspired by people who make comics because they are self-publishing and ambitious. For Walkabout, she wants to go abroad (possibly England) for one of them and stay here for the other. For the one here, she may want to work with a textile designer or go to Afailble Light Theatre. Her favorite things about Linworth are the classes because of the variety and the discussion. She also likes the smallness of the school. Her plans after high school are going to a liberal arts or art school. She is considering Hampshire College or SCAD. She favors depressing music, hipster music and 80s new wave music. She likes Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie, Vampire Weekend, Simon and Garfunkle. Her favorite colors are purple because its "lovely" and grey. You may see her eating Indian or Vietnamese food. Or she may be eating Amul India or Jeni's Ice Cream. She enjoys watching TV shows such as Dexter, Star Trek and Project Runway. An interesting fact about Kira is as a child is that her parents only let her watch cartoons on PBS or video tape because of the commercials on regular TV. She also watched Montey Python as a kid.
DREAM Act
I think the DREAM Act is a great idea. I think that this will better our country in some ways and help undocumented immigrants coming to the country. The act states that they have to either have 2 years in military or in a college. The college is good because we will have more educated people and this will help the people that are coming over, especially if their home country doesn't have good schools. But it is good that they have the military option. Because some people may not be able to afford college or they may just not want to go. The military also gives them benefits and would pay for their college. So I think that the DREAM act is a wonderful idea and should be legalized.

Westboro at Kilbourne
Yeserday, May 10, the Kansas based Westboro Church was invited to speak at WKHS. WKHS said they invited them for educational value."I am very proud of my district for having the fortitude to invite these folks in to allow them to express their views but also to educate the children on why these views aren't correct," said Worthington Board of Education member David Bressman. He then talked about how this was a good thing to invite them because later on the students and teachers on why these people are nuts. I seriously think this is complete bull shit. This the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I happen to have a gay mother and find everything these people preach very offending and enraging. I know a lot of gays/bisexuals at Kilbourne and they had to have appalled by these visitors. I don't care about the bull shit reasons they have for inviting them, it is wrong in every way. I am so glad I wasn't there for these speakers. Educating children about these bad people is great, but it is not the school's place to do it.

Countdown till summer
I love going to Linworth everyday, but I am counting down each day till summer. I am really excited for this summer. Im going to LA again in July and I have a really big, fun party to go to the week before that. And since I have a lot more friends than I did last year, my days will hopefully consist of more things besides watch Spongebob with my dog. Then in August, band camp starts all over again. Most people would not look forward to 8 and 12 hour days in the blazing August sun and hanging out with the same people everyday. But I am excited for it! I think I will like marching band a lot more now that I know what Im doing. Im also happy I don't have to go to summer school this summer. I am also anticipating a possible Las Vegas trip with my dad this summer. Another thing I'm looking forward to is getting my temps in August. There are so many events and things I'm looking forward to this summer.

Osama Bin Landen
As we all know Osama has been killed by US Navy Seals. The fact people are celebrating a death is understandable but kinda barbaric. I think that the people who are celebrating they see it more as a symbolic thing instead of literal. I think they are celebrating that the leader of Al Qaeda is gone rather than a human life has been taken.
I think the fact that people think that his death will decrease terrorist attacks is stupid. There is no doubt that he has people lined up for when he dies. He is hated by alot of people, it would be stupid for him not to have a back up plan for if he gets killed. I also think that this will just make them angrier and more hostile. I mean, what are going to do? Kill every leader of the Al Qaeda forever?
I feel like they should release evidence of Osama being dead. Because whenever something big like this happens, some people automatically have doubts. I think this will help people that have doubts or don't believe he is dead. I personally would feel a lot better if evidence was released.

Things I Like
Since I made a blog about things I hate, I decided to make one about things I like.
1. Music- My life would seriously incomplete without music. I listen to music constantly. It is my main thing I use to cope with bad situations. If I'm sad or mad, music helps me be calm.
2. Linworth- Whenever I go to Kilbourne I always think to myself, "Thank God I go to Linworth...." Linworth has really changed my life and given me some great friends.
3. My Birthday- Best day of the year, nuff said.
4. Facebook- I love Facebook, not sure why though.
5. California- This spring break I went Los Angeles. I can honestly say it was the best vacation I ever had. I didn't dislike anything about it. I really want to move there someday.
6. Llamas- They are the cutest, nicest animals I have ever seen! I love them! I collect llama stuffed animals cause I'm a nerd...
7. Clothes fresh out of the dryer- There is nothing better than getting ready to go to bed and your pajamas are fresh outta the dryer and all warm and cozy.
8. Greek yogurt- Its soooo yummy, its my newest obsession (;
9. Socks- I counted my socks yesterday (no life...) and I had 40 pairs of socks. Obsession? I think so.
10. The dollar theatre- Nothing better than a $1.50 movie ticket. I feel so cool when I get cheap movies. Kinda like I have a sneaky deal with the ticket booth guy even though everyone knows about the cheap tickets...

Friday Night
So Friday night my original plans were to go to Polaris with Hailey, Lauren and Abby. But those plans fell through. So we all went to Lauren's house instead. The first thing we did was we hung out with Sam and Austin and walked around. They came back with us to Lauren's house and hung out for a while, they left around 9:30. So then we chilled at her house for a little bit. And we decided to go outside and walk around some more. We came back and Lauren called up some guys she knew and we met up with them. We were going to get in their car with them but there were some really irritating girls with them. So they dropped them off and we met back up with them again. There was still very limited space in the car. So me and Lauren decided to go with them and Abby and Hailey hung back. Lauren and I had to sit in the hatch back trunk thing, so it was pretty cramped. We stopped at Speedway and she got in the front passenger seat and some guy ended up moving to the back and siting with me, it was awkward to say the least. We eventually drove back to the place they picked us up at. Hailey and Abby met us there and walked home with us but then Hailey sat in the trunk for literally not even a minute. We got back home and realized that her phone fell out of her back pocket in the trunk. But they wouldn't drive back and drop it off. So hopefully she gets it back today. It was a very interesting night.

Things I Hate
1. Racism/Discrimination- Life is too short to be a dumb ass. Get over yourself and be realistic, people are not all the same and will never will be.
2. Flip flops- Dirt+sweaty feet+flip flops=black footprints in the flip flops, not a good situation.
3. The Royal Wedding- If it was anyone else getting married, nobody would care. You have no political power or any use to England. I don't know why people are so amused by this wedding.
4. Old Guys on Harley's- Gross, nuff said.
5. WKHS- We are in high school, please stop treating us like 5 year olds. Also, stop pulling the fire alarm for a senior prank. It's not funny, it's stupid and dangerous. If you're doing a senior prank, make it creative.
6. Justin Bieber- You look like a 12 year old and you sin about love and your hair is not attractive. Why are people so obsessed with him? Hell, I could get a crappy hair cut, use some autotune and be famous. Or that's what it seems like...
7. Candy- Nastayy and unhealthy, no benefit at all.
8. The Rainbow Parrot at Petland- I never really liked birds but my friend made me get the rainbow parrot to sit on my shoulder, it then decided that he liked my hoop earrings and he ripped it out of my ear.
9. Humidity- It ruins my hair, hurts my breathing, makes me sweat and irritates me. Its just not a good time.
10. Creepers- You make me stressed, you irritate me and the more you talk/text me, the more I want nothing to do with you. Please go away.
There are many more things that I hate, these are just a few.

Jamie Dimon
Jamie Dimon is the current CEO and chairmen of JPMorgan Chase &Co. He also previously served as a Class A director of the Board of Directors of the New York Federal Reserve. He was in Time's most influential people in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011. He was in the list for several reasons. Dimon prevented his employees from giving in to the greed that a lot of bankers possessed while destroying their firms and ruining lives. In result, JPMorgan cause a lot less damage during the financial crisis. Other companies such as Countrywide, WaMu and AIG collapsed. I think Dimon was a really good person to put in the top 100. He is very smart and better than most bankers and I think that deserves some credit.
Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler is an American comedian, actress, voice actress, writer and producer. She was a cast members on NBC's Saturday Night Live. She has starred in movies such as Baby Mama, Horton Hears a Who! and many more. Time magazine chose her as one of the too 100 most influential people in 2010. They said this because she always comes out with something new and different. She is also a very kind and funny person to be around. Even though I love her work and think shes very talented, I don't really understand why she got this award. There are tons of people that have the qualities that Time described. In my opinion, there could have chose a better person.

Nintendo Wii moves toward retirement
So people are saying that the Wii, once a very cutting age gaming system, is going towards the Atari 2600 route. This really doesn't surprise me because this happens to all technology. Once the newest, best thing is out the next advanced version came out just months later. It amazes me how fast and how often things progress and advance. But it also makes me wonder, what is next? Because I always feel like they will run out of ideas and things will stop. But I know that is not true. Nintendo is said to be coming out with something new in 2012. This is good personally, I've always hated the Wii. I have the Xbox Kinect and it is amazing and way better. The only bad thing right now is that there are not that many games yet, but hopefully that will change soon. I wish I could keep up and advance as fast as technology does.

Easter Weekend 2011
This weekend I had Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. On Friday, my mom and I went to get her hair colored. My mom goes to this place in the ghetto that's really weird and unprofessional. The whole time the lady was doing my mom's hair, she was on the phone and the nail lady kept yelling at her boyfriend on the phone about her friend being on crack while she was doing someone's nails. The only thing nice about it is that only 2 people work in there. but it sounds like 15 cause they're so loud. I really don't know why she goes there when her old place only costs $10 more and it's way better. Then we went to Kohl's to get a T-shirt and a candle for my mom's girlfriend's easter gift. We ended up each getting a whole new outfit and shoes lol... Then we went to Kroger for 3 hours cause my mom is obsessed with coupons and takes forever to go shopping. Then Saturday, I chilled the whole day then went to a surprise birthday at Hailey's house, which was really fun. Then on Sunday, my mom, her gf, my grandma and I went to Cracker Barrel. I got the prettiest salad evar(: Then we came home and we opened Easter baskets which always a good time. Then we had gross pie. Then my mom's gf and I colored eggs. So this weekend was gooood(:

Limitless
Over spring break I saw the movie Limitless. I am absolutely in love with this movie. It is about a dad beat writer who is stuck on what to write next. He runs in to his ex brother in law who is a drug dealer. He gave him a drug call NZT. This drug allows you to 100% of your brain opposed to the fact that we only use 20%. The drug doesn't get you high, but makes everything clearer and sharper. It also allows you to do everything faster, better, quicker and smarter. Although the drug seems so great, the withdrawal is deadly and there is only a limited amount and everyone wants it. The main character (Bradley Cooper <3) has the rest of it. So he is constantly fighting off people that want to kill him for this drug. But he starts to take to much and black outs and forgets everything he has done. So yeah I highly recommend this movie! 5 stars!

Drug Smuggling
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CREATIVE_CONTRABAND?SITE=WBNSTV&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
I never knew how complex drug smuggling could be until I read this article. Sending a coloring book to an inmate in prison with crayon-colored scribbling made from a paste containing drugs? That has to be admired to some degree. My favorite way was when someone opens a fruit, guts it, fills it with drugs and somehow conceals it to look like it's never been opened. It is just so interesting how airport and prison security progresses and advances, drug smuggling is 2 steps ahead of them. This just proves that people can get around anything when they really want to. When I hear about these ways of smuggling drugs it almost makes me ignore how illegal and wrong it is. And the people who are doing this have to be extremely smart and clever. Which also is makes me think about what would happen if these intelligent people put there skills to good use. I would seriously would want to meet one of these drug dealers and ask them how they do this and think of these outrageous ideas. This article is very interesting.

Religion in Schools and Government
I was looking at the school calendar and realized that we had Good Friday off. The calendar didn't say Good Friday on that day, but the Friday before Easter is coincidentally a day off every year. While Passover, an important Jewish religion, is just a few days before and school is in session. This I think is because that our country is Christian dominated. This reminded of even for Christian influences in public school in government. I thought back to elementary school when we recited the pledge of allegiance every morning. The line "One nation under God" is an obvious Christian influence. When you go to trial, you have to swear on the Bible too. I also began to think of people who protest against things such as gay marriage because of religion. Although it is not said that this is a reason I think it has impact on it. Although we have separation of church an state, I really don't think it is. In my opinion, government and school should not have any religion opinions or influence at all. Because of the obvious fact that not everyone has the same religion or has a religion at all, so if religion is used it's just another thing that makes people not agree on things.

Spring Break 2011
This year for spring break I went to Los Angeles with my grandparents. It was really fun. I got there on Saturday at 3pm, that evening we went to see my great aunt at her assisted living place. It was the first time I met her so I didn't really know what to expect. She is kind of scary because she's 80 years old an yells at everyone. And it's even weirder cause she doesn't speak much English so I never know what shes saying and my grandpa has to translate. While I was there I went to Hollywood Blvd, went on a tour of the star's homes, went to Venice and Santa Monica beach, did alot of shopping, hung out with my family, went on a tour of NBC studios, went to Knott's Berry Amusement Park, went to Malibu and just relaxed. My favorite thing was going to Venice Beach. That beach is more of a people watching/shopping beach rather than a calm, relaxing beach. There were alot of skate parks there and it was cool to watch all of them skate. There were alot of cool, cheap shops too. There were about 7 places that sold "medical marijuana". In order to get it you have to be 18 and have a medical problem. But you could just go in there and say you have a migraine and they would give it to you, so it's not very hard to get. There were also alot of artists there selling cool stuff. My favorite thing was when they used palm leaves to weave into roses. But there were hobos, which was kind of depressing. But I'm really excited because I get to go there again this summer for a week and a half. California was definitely my favorite vacation(:

Ohio Union Bill Aimed At Reducing Bargaining Rights Passes State Senate
So basically teachers and public workers have no say anymore in what they do but we have a little more money in our pockets. This to me is not in any shape or form a good trade. This will just create a domino effect bad situations. Well if I was a teacher or public worker I would be pissed and quit my job. This would bring up the problem of worse schools and less public help. If I was a college student and wanted to be a teacher I would have second thoughts and want to go because of this. This brings up that there will be less teachers. Then that brings up the problem of worse schools. That brings up the problem of bigger classrooms. That brings on the problem of worse education, etc. So we will have shitty school systems. This brings on obvious problems. So your in an inner city school in Chicago. Because of the decrease of teachers, your class is now pushed to 40 students per class, when the class was already unruly and not that functional. So the education will be shit and there will be an increase of drop outs and stupid people, which this country does not need anymore of... Schools will be bad, people will be stupid, no public workers. How important is that spare change in your pocket now?
12 Year Old Boy Accused of Murder
In Colorado a 12 year old boy linked to the murder of his mother and father and severe wounds to his 2 younger siblings. This really makes me think more than just the obvious point that this is really messed up. How do people get this way? How do children learn this? This didn't use to happen, why is it happening now? Its really confusing that people that grow up with great parents and family and morals still turn out this way. I personally blame the media for kids knowing all this information about murder and killing. Think back to about 1970. There were only a few channels on TV, let alone shows and information about violence and murder. There were also no video games that involved murder or internet to influence kids. I'm not saying it never happened back then, but the violence and murder of parents by their own parents has gone up. I also just feel bad for the kid. He had his whole life in front of him and he already has a criminal record before he even finishes middle school. But the other part of me doesn't really care about that because people who act like this don't deserve to be out in the world with good people. Why should they be aloud interact with the good people in the world? Why should they have that privilege? Why should they have the same good things that we do when all they are is scum?
If We Did What Sheen Did, We'd Be in Jail
Go trash your hotel, admit to snorting coke, have the police make a report saying that you choked someone, held a knife to their throat. We, normal people, would be in prison right now. But Sheen won't be. This is because he has one thing that every day people have: lots of money. Its absolutely sickening that we let these people get away with this. The only reason they are is for that stupid ass petty thing that really doesn't mean anything in the long run. He doesn't have good morals, he obviously isn't that great of a person and personally I think he sucks as an actor. So why do we let him get away with this? I personally feel that America is obsessed with these stupid celebrities. They go out and commit crimes and be bad people, yet we still buy their CDs, watch their movies and enable this behavior. How about we focus on things that actually...oh I don't know..MATTER?? But he also isn't the only wild, out of control celebrity. There is a very large group of them. We need to stop enabling them, supporting them and making excuses and stop treating them like there God or royalty or something. Because we are all people, supposedly created "equal". How about we actually act that way instead of what we do now? They need the same punishment as you and I would receive.
